Mikael Rydh, b 1972 in Uppsala, lives in Stockholm (Sweden).

Mikael’s images revolve around people, where the depicted faces often have a lingering, ambiguous expression that can awake wonder and concern. He usually works with a limited, dimmed color scale and he paints primarily in oil on wood panels.

Mikael is a professional musician, employed in the orchestra of the Royal Swedish Opera, Stockholm. In addition to the passion for painting and music, he has worked with graphic design, typography and photography. He has exhibited several times at Edsvik’s salons, at Liljevalch’s Vårsalong, and had separate exhibitions in Vaxholm Town Hall and in Söderhamn.
